How does plastic effect Earth?

How does plastic effect Earth?

Welcome to Emerald Earth. In this blog we tell everything on Earth from beauty to its dereliction. Plastic has become a part of our life’s just like any other thing on the planet but what side effects could plastic pose?

What is plastic?

Plastics are a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials. Their plasticity makes it possible for plastics to be molded, extruded or pressed into solid objects of various shapes. Plastics typically are made through human industrial systems.

Why is plastic popular?

Plastic is popular for properties, such as being lightweight, durable, flexible, and inexpensive to produce, this has led to its widespread use.

What kind of plastic hurts the environment?

Plastic Fruit and Vegetable Bags Yes – all that single- use plastic packaging at the supermarket really is bad for the environment! Single- use plastic are that kind of plastic, like it says in the name, you can use only once such as straws, plates etc. Other plastics like plastic comb are okay to use as long as you don’t throw it.

Sometimes plastic items are unavoidable, what do we do then?

In the pandemic plastic sanitizer bottles are unavoidable. We can simply use those bottles and fill it in with paint, glitter, any uneatable thing. Sometimes we get plastic bags without meaning to, in those circumstances we can re-use the plastic bags by using it as a shower cap. We can plant seeds in the plastic bottles. You can get creative!

What will happen if we don’t stop or re-use plastic?

If we do not stop plastic pollution in our oceans the ocean will eventually lose its habitat and our ecosystem will be changed forever. Not only will plastic pollution hurt animals, damage our oceans waters, and change our ecosystem but it also can have a great effect on the human race as well.

LET US MAKE A CHANGE!

Volcanoes

Volcanoes

Welcome to Emerald Earth. In this blog we tell everything on Earth from beauty

to its dereliction.

Many natural threats are in the world, one of them being volcanoes. In this blog

we will answer commonly asked questions about volcanoes.

 What are volcanoes?

Volcanoes are places on Earth’s or any other planet’s surface where hot molten rocks or magma, gasses and other rocky materials erupt through the planet’s crust.

How are Volcanoes formed?

Volcanic are formed when magma erupts from deep inside the Earth and pileson surface. When the ash and lava cools down, it builds a cone shape structure of rocks, leading to the formation of volcanic mountains like Mount Pinatubo (Philippines).

What is magma?

Magma is molten rocks within Earth’s crust. When magma erupts from the Earth’s surface it is called lava. Usually, lava is thick and slow moving but sometimes it can also be thin and fast moving. Rocks also come out from volcanoes in other forms like ash.

Why do volcanoes erupt?

Melting may happen where tectonic plates (slabs that move over a liquid mantle) are pulling apart or where one plate is pushed down under another. Magma is lighter than rock so rises towards the Earth's surface. As the magma rises, bubbles of gas form inside it. If a volcano erupts then make sure you help others escape too and you better hope, it’s the thick and slow kind.

Why should you help the environment?

Welcome to Emerald Earth. In this blog we tell everything on Earth from beauty to dereliction.
You may have listened many times people trying to help the environment. But have you ever wondered, what is the importance of helping mother earth?

What happened to earth that we should now help it?

Today, we produce about 300 million tons of plastic waste every year. If this continues, millions of animals and plants will die. Everywhere
you go, you will see dirty garbage around. But we can’t let that happen.

There are so many other bad things like this happening every day. If this continues, our beautiful planet will be in derelict. We can’t let our charming earth slip away.

What might happen if we don’t help the environment?

Garbage will be everywhere. People will suffer and die because of water shortage. No animals will be there. People suffering because of all the pollution. And there will be so many other terrible things!

What can we do to help the environment?

Well its simpler that you think. Just make some changes in daily life! Like-

Use jute/cloth/paper bags instead of plastic bags.

Avoid using single used plastic.

For going to short distances, walk of cycle instead of car or bike.

Reduce-reuse-recycle!

Soon, we will make a blog with many many ways you can help the environment with reasons on why!

The Astonishing Amazon Rainforest

The Astonishing Amazon rainforest

Welcome to Emerald Earth. In this blog we tell everything on Earth from beauty to its dereliction.  Earth has many places but none like the Amazon rainforest. Where the Flora meets Fauna.

Why is the Amazon forest famous?

The Amazon Rainforest is a beautiful place that is full of unique animals, millions of miles of trees, and rare species of plants and bugs – some that haven’t even been discovered yet! This stunning rainforest gives us so much more than interesting plants and animals to learn about.

                                                                  amazon rain forest

Why is the Amazon rainforest important?

It helps balance the global carbon levels by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and plays a key role in the global water cycle, stabilizing global climate and rainfall. It produces more than 20% of the Earths oxygen. It is also responsible for the origin of 80% for the food in the world! And is home to many people, plants, and animals but every year a deathly fire rises in the amazon forest!

Why does amazon rainforest often have forest fires?

Unlike other types of forests, the Amazon is not evolved in origin of the fire. Fire is commonly used in the Amazon as a technique to clear land for cattle ranches, plantations or other uses. Sometimes the fires can be spurred by deforestation caused by humans too.

                                                             fire in the amazon rainforest

what are the effects of this fire?

The burning of trees produces harmful smoke which the animal inhale. This leads to dangerous health issues. The effects of the fires are also being felt across Brazil. Parts of the country are covered in smoke, deforestation and a worldwide increase in temperatures. The local impacts of these fires are also significant.

How long has the Amazon rainforest been having fires?

The amazon forest has been having annual fires since 2014 and it will go on unless we change it. The fate of innocent animals and the beautiful plants lie in our hands. Let us choose to save the forest.

The Birth of Earth

The Birth of Earth

Welcome to Emerald Earth. In this blog we tell everything on Earth from beauty to its dereliction.

Earth is a beautiful planet with flowing rivers, lakes, hills, and mountains.
Through its perfection and imperfection, have you ever wondered how it all started?

When was Earth created?

It is said that our planet had been created about 4.5 billion years ago! The earliest time that life forms first appeared on Earth is at least 3.77 billion years ago, because that is the age of the oldest rocks  fossil with evidence of life on earth.

How was Earth created?

Like other planets, Earth is also made of molecules that were floating around in space. At the beginning, just a few molecules clustered together. Then slowly it became a bunch. Soon the pieces of metals and rocks from across hundreds of kilometers smashed into each other and formed a planet!

How was life created on Earth?

Life emerged in a series of small steps. Simple organic molecules were formed. Simple organic molecules are the building blocks of life and must have been involved in its origin.

Life on earth

What are the first living things on earth?

Scientists believe that the first living thing came about 4 billion years ago. Prokaryotes, micro-organisms were the beginning of life. Later the first living organism, bacteria came about 3 billion years.

when will the Earth be destroyed?

The most likely fate of the planet is absorption by the Sun in about 7.5 billion years, after the star has entered the red giant phase and expanded beyond the planet's current orbit. Unfortunately, life on Earth will end much sooner.
